They have a more compact size when rolled up
They have reduced friction when drawing the blanket on or off the pool, so easier to roll up
Thermal pool covers are not transparent to solar radiation, therefore the solar heating effect is less than for solar blankets
This makes them ideal for indoor pools and swim schools, where there is usually minimal solar gain when the pool is covered, and where junior staff may be employed to cover and uncover the pool.

The exceptional insulation and strength properties of Thermal Cover are a result of the unique flame bonded, multilayer construction.
Insulation is provided by a closed-cell cross-linked polyethylene foam, one of the best insulating materials available.
For added strength and protection, the foam is sandwiched between tough, UV-stabilized woven polyethylene fabric layers.
These layers are waterproof, non-toxic, and chemically resistant.
