• DC has the advantage of running directly from a battery, thus eliminating inverter inefficiencies of 5% to 25%
• The electronics have over and under-voltage protection, thermal protection and pressure protection (in case the unit is disconnected and then reconnected whilst running)
• Because of its efficiency, it takes the seasonal changes in solar-power systems to its full advantage.    i.e. In the summer, when the days are longer and more solar power is available, the fridge may run longer because the weather is hotter.  In winter the reverse occurs
• The performance is similar to normal 240-volt fridges, yet they consume a fraction of the power.
